Make Things in the Real World
I've made software all my life but I now feel a strong pull to make things in the real world. With AI, software is a problem that is being increasingly solved and I do think this is a great thing. Rather than lament this, I think it is simply time to be more ambitious because AI has so massively expanded the scope of what a single human is capable of.
The world has no shortage of immense, ambitious, civilizational-level problems. Dyson spheres, curing cancer, etc. It's clear to me that no matter what you work on, if you're thinking big enough you're going to hit the reality of the physical world sooner or later.
In retrospect, I think the entire SaaS boom of the past decade will seem strange.
